Abstract

As the opening degree of China to the outside world is enlarging, the demand for translators grows
rapidly and traditional translation model is difficult to meet the needs of market; the great
improvements in information technology provide conditions for the emergence of computer-aided
translation (CAT). CAT subverts traditional translation model to a great extent and shows a series
of advantages in translation efficiency and translation cooperation. However, because of some
limitations of CAT itself, translation documents which meet the requirements of market can’t be
separated from the subjective initiative of translators.
Key words: CAT; the subjective initiative of translators; translation efficiency.
