Hyderabad which is the capital of the Telangana State and de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh is
considered as one of the important capital city in Southern India. It occupies around 650 square
kilometres (250 sq mi) along the banks of the Musi River. It is an overpopulated city wherein the
people from various districts of Telangana State, the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka,
Tamil Nadu other states have migrated and settled here from ages due to its cosmopolitan
atmosphere. This led to a lot of congestion of traffic and the present paper is study of the various
facts relating to traffics, most importantly, proper traffic management system along with
appropriate implementation of traffic rules is necessary to mitigate the problems of traffic
congestion in Hyderabad.
